I don’t just consider my self a photographer. I am also a documentarian. I dont always set out to create a “beautiful” image to hang on the mantel or even something I will win praise for in the photography community for my technical abilities. No, I want to document life, love and the real you.
That’s why I LOVE this session with the Baank family so much. I would never have set out to photograph a family hanging out with traffic cones. Nope, just not my thing. But Aubrey loves them and he calls them pine cones…how cute is that? His face would just light up when his parents swung him over them or while he straightened them to his liking.
Traffic cones (of should I say pine cones) may never show up in another blog post on Lundy Photography but that’s okay…They tell their story. I do however hope that many years down the road when Aubrey graduates highschool they will all look back on these images and remember that shy/rambunctious/curious little boy who loved pine cones.
